My approach to therapy is Person-Centered and Trauma-Informed. This means that I take your individual needs and experiences into account when developing your treatment. Your past and your experiences are unique to you; I aim to build a treatment plan that’s also unique to you, and to create a safe and empowering space for you to heal. Through a genuine connection with you built with mutual respect, warmth, humour, and directness, we can create meaningful change and growth in your life.

Trauma

I am trained in several different treatment options for treating trauma-based difficulties, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure (PE). My trauma-informed approach means acknowledging unique aspects of your experience and choosing the treatment that will be best for you.

General Issues

I employ Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for concerns such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. It can also be helpful for anger, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and stress management. Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a type of CBT used specifically for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
